A Game of Thrones: The Card Game

Description

--- "A Game of Thrones LCG" is a fixed-distribution Living Card Game evolved from the CCG, offering customizable deck-building without blind buys via Core Sets and monthly expansions. Key mechanics include: - *LCG format* Fixed card distribution in Core Sets (self-contained with multiple decks) and expansions (initially 40 cards, later 60 cards with 3 copies of 20 unique cards). - *Ongoing expansions* Monthly chapter packs in cycles like A Clash of Arms, A Time of Ravens, and big expansions such as Kings of the Sea. - *Customization and story* Expansions add variety, new cards, and narrative progression to the core gameplay. - *Reprints and resources* Updates like 60-card reprints for King's Landing and Defenders of the North; tools include video tutorials and card databases. A Game of Thrones: The Card Game (LCG) transitioned from the CCG to Fantasy Flight Games' Living Card Game format, eliminating blind buys while retaining dynamic, customizable play. It features a self-contained Core Set with multiple decks and game aids, followed by monthly expansion packs—initially 40 fixed cards, shifting to 60 cards (3x20 unique) from the Brotherhood Without Banners cycle. Reprints adapted earlier packs like King's Landing and Defenders of the North. The game lists extensive chapter pack cycles (e.g., A Clash of Arms with sub-packs like The War of the Five Kings; A Time of Ravens; King's Landing; up to Wardens) and big expansions (Kings of the Sea, Princes of the Sun, Lords of Winter, Kings of the Storm, Queen of Dragons, Lions of the Rock). Resources for new players include publisher video tutorials, card spoilers on CardGameDB.com, and Der Deckbauer. It re-implements the A Game of Thrones CCG and was re-implemented by Game of Thrones (HBO Edition). ---
