Everything you need to know about DiceVibes

Getting Started
Begin your board game journey
You can add games in several ways: search by name using our BoardGameGeek integration, scan a barcode with your phone's camera, or import your entire BGG collection at once. All game data is automatically enriched with details like player count, play time, and descriptions.
After creating an account, go to your Library page and click "Import from BGG". Enter your BGG username and we'll automatically import your entire collection, including ratings and play status. The import typically takes just a few seconds for most collections.

Your Library
Organize and manage your collection
Yes! When viewing any collection (yours or a friend's), you can filter games by player count, play time, complexity, and more. This makes it easy to find the perfect game for your group size.
The wishlist lets you track games you'd like to own someday. When adding a game, choose "Add to Wishlist" instead of adding it to your collection. You'll also get notified when a friend adds a game that's on your wishlist - perfect for finding borrowing opportunities or gift ideas!
Yes! You can mark any game in your collection as available for trade. Other members browsing your collection will see a trade indicator, making it easy to find games to swap.

Discover Games
Find your next favorite
Our recommendation engine suggests games you might enjoy based on multiple signals: games owned by users with similar collections ("users who own X also own Y"), matching categories and mechanics, and AI-powered semantic similarity that captures the "feel" of games beyond just shared attributes. Your ratings influence recommendations - highly rated games have more weight in your taste profile.
Recommendations update automatically when you add games to your library, change ratings, or follow/unfollow users. Following someone adds a "social signal" - games your friends own get a boost. You'll see a notification when your recommendations refresh.
The match percentage shows how well a game fits your taste profile. It combines collaborative filtering (what similar users own), content matching (categories, mechanics, player count), semantic similarity (AI-detected game "feel"), and social signals (friends who own it). Higher percentages mean stronger matches across multiple factors.

Track Your Plays
Log and share game sessions
From any game in your library, click "Log Play" to record a session. You can add players, scores, winners, session notes, and up to 5 photos. Play logs help you track your gaming history and share memorable moments with friends.
Yes! Each play log has its own shareable page. You can control visibility: Public (anyone can see), Friends Only, or Private. Share the link on social media or with friends to show off your game nights.
Photos are automatically resized and optimized. They go through content moderation to ensure appropriateness before being visible to others. You'll see status indicators showing whether photos are approved, pending review, or blocked.

Connect with Others
Build your gaming network
Visit any member's profile and click the "Follow" button. Following is one-way - you can follow someone without them following you back. When you both follow each other, you become "Friends" which unlocks additional features like seeing friends-only content and easier loan requests.
Followers are one-way: someone follows you, or you follow them. Friends are mutual: you both follow each other. Friends can see each other's friends-only content, and loan requests between friends are typically prioritized. You can see your followers and who you're following on your profile page.
Yes. If someone is bothering you, you can block them from their profile or when declining a loan request. Blocked users cannot follow you, message you, view your profile, or send you loan requests. You can manage your blocked users in your Profile settings.
You can start a chat with any user by clicking the "Chat" button on their profile or library page. Messages are private between you and the recipient. You can access all your conversations from the Chat section in the main navigation.
You'll receive notifications for: new followers, loan requests, loan reminders, messages, and wishlist matches (when a friend adds a game on your wishlist). You can customize which notifications you receive in your Profile settings under Notification Preferences.

Borrow & Lend
Share games with friends
You can request to borrow games from other users' collections. Click "Request to Borrow" on any game, and the owner will receive a notification. They can accept or decline your request. If accepted, the game is marked as "On Loan" in their library, and you'll both see it in your dashboard. When you return the game, the owner marks it as returned.
Incoming loan requests appear on your Dashboard under "Attention Items". You can accept or decline each request. When accepting, the loan becomes active immediately. When declining, you can optionally block the requester if needed. You can also control who can send you loan requests in your Profile settings: Everyone, Friends Only, or Nobody.
When you've returned a game to its owner, they need to mark it as returned from their Dashboard. The game will then be available in their library again, and it will be removed from your active loans.

Find Players
LFG posts and local events
LFG helps you find players in your area. Create a post specifying the game you want to play, location, and when you're available. Other members can respond to join your game night. It's a great way to meet local board gamers!
Go to the LFG section and click "Create Post". Select a game (optional), set your location, and choose either a specific date or recurring weekly availability (e.g., "Tuesday and Thursday evenings"). Add details about what you're looking for and how many players you need.
A specific date is for one-time game nights - "Saturday, January 25th at 7pm". Recurring availability lets you specify weekly patterns - "Tuesday and Thursday evenings" - for ongoing gaming groups. Choose the format that best fits your schedule.
Venues are locations like game cafes, stores, or community centers where game nights happen. Venue owners can create events (game nights, tournaments, etc.) with details like date, time, and available seating. You can browse upcoming events, register to attend, and even bring a +1.
Find an event through a venue page or the events listing, then click "Register". You can optionally add a +1 guest. Your registration reserves your spot at a table. You can cancel your registration anytime before the event starts.

Community
Forums and discussions
The forums are organized into categories for different topics. You can create threads, reply to discussions, and interact with other members. Forums support rich text formatting, @mentions to notify users, and #game mentions to reference games.
Type @ followed by a username to mention someone - they'll receive a notification and their name appears as a clickable badge. Type # followed by a game name to create a game mention - it becomes a clickable badge showing the game's cover art and details on hover.
Spoiler text lets you hide content that might spoil game strategies, plot twists, or surprises. Select text in the editor and click the eye icon (or press Ctrl+Shift+S). Readers see a redacted bar that reveals the content when clicked.

Your Account
Privacy and settings
Yes! DiceVibes is a Progressive Web App (PWA). On mobile, look for "Add to Home Screen" in your browser menu. On desktop, click the install icon in your browser's address bar. The app loads faster, works offline for viewing your collection, and provides a native app experience.
Each member has a unique profile URL (like dicevibes.com/members/yourname). You can share this link directly, or friends can find you through the Member Directory by searching for your display name.
By default, your profile and collection are visible to everyone. You can control this in your Profile settings under Privacy. Choose "Everyone" to be publicly visible, "Friends Only" to limit access to your friends, or "Nobody" to keep your profile completely private.
Your location helps us connect you with nearby board gamers and suggest local friends to play with. We take your privacy seriously: your coordinates are automatically blurred based on your chosen precision level - City (~5km), Neighborhood (~100m), or Exact (~10m street-level). You also control who can see your location: Nobody (completely hidden), Friends Only, or Everyone. You can change these settings anytime in your Profile under Location Settings.
You can delete your account from the Profile page under Account Settings. This will permanently remove all your data including your collection, ratings, and profile information. This action cannot be undone.
