Description

--- <TLDR> Alvin & Dexter expands Ticket to Ride with monsters blocking routes, halving ticket values, and relocation via locomotives for movement bonuses. </TLDR> Key mechanics include: - *Monster nesting* Prevents route building into or out of occupied cities during play. - *Scoring penalty* Destination tickets to monster cities score at half value during final tally. - *Relocation mechanic* Discard one wild locomotive to move a monster up to three cities, or two for up to six. - *Endgame bonus* Player moving monsters most receives bonus as "monster minder." Alvin & Dexter is an expansion compatible with any Ticket to Ride game from Alan R. Moon and Days of Wonder since 2004, introducing monsters Alvin and Dexter that hinder players throughout. During gameplay, these monsters nest in cities, blocking all route construction into or out of those locations. At game end, any destination tickets listing a monster-occupied city yield only half their normal points. To counter this, players discard one wild locomotive card to relocate a monster up to three cities away, or two cards for up to six cities, enabling critical route builds to destinations like Seattle or Paris. The player who relocates monsters more than any other earns an endgame bonus for excelling as monster minder. ---
