Castles of Burgundy "Solo" is a mini-expansion featuring a double-sided player board (A-side for beginners, B-side advanced), where base game rules apply except for specified changes, set up as a 2-player game but played solo over exactly 25 rounds. Start with 1 Silverling, 2 workers, a castle on any estate space, and 3 random goods (no color restrictions). Use chosen color pieces plus a white die; VP counter starts at 0, target at 50. Each round begins by rolling all 3 dice: place top goods tile on white die's depot, then permanently remove a hex tile from that depot (top-to-bottom or left-to-right; skip empty depots clockwise from 2,3,5,6 or 1,4). Perform 2 standard dice actions with VP gains, but expansions only via rivers. Ship placement lets you claim all goods from one depot then discard others from all depots. Uniquely, exchange any 5 goods for a black depot tile, placing it face-down (black side up) on one of three storage spaces; later place on any color-matching space per base rules—it completes regions for VPs/color bonuses/win condition but provides no active effects (e.g., no mining or shipping).
