Description
New promo board for Tokyo Monsters, released for Portal Games' 25th anniversary, replaces the standard board with Katowice (City Center) and Gliwice (Bay), adding Suburb mechanics for strategic monster placement and effects. (28 words) Key mechanics include: - *Board substitution* Katowice replaces City Center and Gliwice replaces Bay; use exclusively regardless of game version. - *Monster relocation* Leaving Katowice or Gliwice places pawn on any Suburb space; displaces existing pawn (owner retrieves it in front and gains +1 heart) or leaves empty without effect. - *Suburb resolution* Monsters in Suburbs resolve the space's symbol alongside dice roll symbols during results. - *Combat limitations* Suburb monsters attack and are attacked only by those in Katowice or Gliwice. - *Multiplayer adjustment* In 5-6 player games, first to leave Center chooses Suburb; all other rules unchanged. This promotional board, added to Portal Games store orders during the September 6-8, 2024, 25th anniversary celebration, mandates replacement of the standard board for all Tokyo Monsters versions. Katowice and Gliwice function as the new central areas, with players placing Monster pawns on Suburb spaces upon exit rather than in front of themselves. Occupied Suburbs trigger displacement (previous owner repositions pawn in front and receives +1 heart); empty ones yield no extra effects. Dice resolution for Suburban monsters incorporates the space's symbol in addition to dice symbols, while combat is restricted to interactions between Suburbs and Katowice/Gliwice only. In 5-6 player setups, the initial Center leaver selects their Suburb, preserving all other game rules intact.
