Description

"Jean-Claude Van Rice" is a 2010 April Fool's promo ghost card for Ghost Stories, featuring dual-space occupancy, leg-specific exorcisms, and a spoiling apple reward. Key mechanics include: - *Dual-space entry* Enters sideways occupying 2 adjacent spaces (green color); displaces obstacles if needed, without curses/rewards for ghosts or eliminating incarnations. - *Leg-based defeat* Requires successful exorcisms on left leg (3 Blue resistance) and right leg (4 Green resistance); order irrelevant; shifts to single space after one leg breaks. - *Apple artifact reward* Grants apple to active player upon full defeat; discard in Yang Phase to restore any living Taoist to 3 QI; spoils and becomes useless if new Wu-Feng enters play first. Jean-Claude Van Rice, a downloadable 2010 April Fool's promotion from Repos Production also included in the limited edition 7 Wonders at Spiel 2010, functions as a special green ghost in Ghost Stories. Upon entering play, it occupies two adjacent spaces sideways, creating room by discarding blockers if necessary (no ghost curse/reward, no incarnation elimination). Defeating it demands successful exorcisms on both legs independently—left with 3 Blue resistance, stronger right with 4 Green—after which it relocates fully onto the surviving leg's space, freeing the other. Complete defeat discards it and awards the active player an apple artifact, which can be discarded during their Yang Phase to restore any non-dead Taoist (including self) to 3 QI; however, if another Wu-Feng appears beforehand, the apple spoils, forcing discard without effect.
