This expansion pack delivers physical materials essential for playing six Catan scenarios—Die Wüsten drachen/Wüstenreiter (The Desert Dragons), Der große Kanal (The Great Canal), Verwunschenes Land (The Enchanted Land), Die Schatzinseln (The Treasure Islands), and Groß-Catan (Greater Catan)—that previously required player handicraft, eliminating the need for a second base game in the latter. It also introduces a new scenario, Aufbruch ins Ungewisse (Departure Into The Unknown). Initially released in German in October 2009, with rules downloadable from www.catan.de (reviewed to version 8 on October 23, 2013), it now offers an English version expected in July 2021, with rules available at www.catan.com thereafter.
