Description
--- "Carcassonne: Abbey & Mayor" is the fifth major expansion introducing abbey tiles, mayors, barns, wagons, and landscape tiles to enhance strategic tile placement and scoring. Key mechanics include: - *Abbey tiles* Function as cloisters without needing to match adjacent tiles; complete surrounding features upon placement. - *Mayors* Placed exclusively in cities; their strength equals the number of pennants in that city. - *Barns* Enable mid-game scoring of fields, rather than only at game end. - *Wagons* Deployed on roads, cities, or cloisters; relocate to adjacent open features when their current feature completes. Carcassonne: Abbey & Mayor, the fifth major expansion to the Carcassonne series, introduces three new wooden meeples (mayors, barns, wagons), six abbey tiles, and twelve landscape tiles. Abbey tiles serve as flexible cloisters that ignore adjacent tile matching and automatically finalize nearby features when placed. Mayors occupy cities exclusively, deriving strength from the pennant count to influence control. Barns provide immediate field scoring opportunities during gameplay, bypassing end-game resolution. Wagons offer mobility, starting on roads, cities, or cloisters and shifting to neighboring unfinished features upon completion of their host, adding dynamic repositioning to traditional tile-laying strategies. ---
