Description
**In Harmonies** is a strategic tile-placement game where players build landscapes with terrain tokens to create animal habitats and maximize points through wise placement and animal settlement. Key mechanics include: - *Terrain token placement* Players select and place sets of 3 colored tokens (mountain, field, forest, etc.) from the central area onto their personal board, following terrain-specific scoring rules like stack height for mountains (e.g., 1 tile=1 point, 3 tiles=7 points) only if adjacent to another mountain. - *Animal card acquisition and cube placement* Optionally draw from 5 displayed Animal cards (4-card limit per player) and place Animal cubes on completed matching patterns; discard completed cards (all cubes placed) for new ones. - *Turn structure* Starting clockwise, players act then refill central area with new 3-token set and Animal card if needed. - *Optional Nature's Spirit cards* Each player selects 1 of 2 during setup, places Spirit cube similarly (counts toward 4-card limit), with ongoing effects upon completion. - *Endgame and scoring* Ends when no tokens remain or ≥1 player has ≤2 empty board spaces (continue to equal turns); score based on animal cards' highest uncovered number and habitat points. In Harmonies, players construct personalized landscapes by placing colored terrain tokens to form habitats tailored to their Animal cards, aiming to settle the most animals and score optimally. Each turn, in clockwise order from the first player, participants select a central set of 3 tokens for board placement—guided by animal goals and rules like mountains requiring adjacency for stacked scoring (zero otherwise)—and may optionally acquire an Animal card from 5 available (max 4 held) or position cubes from owned cards onto matching completed patterns. Fully placed Animal cards are discarded for replacements. Optional Nature's Spirit cards add depth: players choose one at setup, treat its cube like animals, and gain persistent effects post-completion within the card limit. The game concludes when the token bag empties or any player nears board capacity (≤2 empty spaces), extending to all equal turns that round. Victory goes to the highest scorer, balancing habitat efficiency, animal proliferation, and strategic token choices.
