--- **Saboteur** is a social deduction game of hidden roles where miners build paths to secret gold while saboteurs covertly obstruct them over three rounds to amass the most gold. Key mechanics include: - *Secret roles* Players draw Dwarf Cards assigning them as miners or saboteurs, kept hidden until round end. - *Path building* Place Path Cards adjacent to existing ones, matching paths without rotation, from Start Card toward spaced Goal Cards. - *Action cards* Play in front of any player (including self) to assist, disrupt, or gain info on face-down Goal Cards. - *Turn actions* Choose to place a Path Card, play an Action Card, or pass. - *Round resolution* Ends when a path connects Start to gold Goal (miners claim gold rewards) or gold unreachable (saboteurs claim rewards). - *Multi-round victory* After three rounds, player with most gold pieces wins. Saboteur pits players as dwarves in a mine—secretly miners or saboteurs—racing to uncover gold hidden under one of three face-down Goal Cards, laid out seven cards from the Start Card with one-card gaps between goals. Turns involve placing interconnecting Path Cards to extend mine tunnels, playing Action Cards to aid or impede opponents (or self) and peek at goals, or passing, all while saboteurs subtly derail progress without exposure. Miners aim for an unbroken path to the gold Goal to secure rewards; failure awards saboteurs. Roles reset each of three rounds via Dwarf Cards, culminating in the gold-richest player victorious. ---
